My new house makeover

We were planning to move in to our new home sometime in February. Just waiting for the kitchen cabinet to be set up. At the meantime, I am still browsing for the decorations for the new house like the living, dining, family area and maybe the rooms. Just to get an idea how the area should look like.

Designer Rizalman Ibrahim has done a very good job in decorating and transforming the winners' home for DecoDeco. I'm so amazed on how he decorated each of the house with different theme and colours. Here are just a few of the photos taken from his blog which I think I could adapt in my new home. *wink*

I like this color.

Love the chair and chandelier. Gorgeous!

Kan best if Rizalman could deco deco my house pulak. Mesti gempak la :P

Parenthood Expo 2010

I started noticing on the parenthood and baby expo since I was 8 months pregnant. I was so eager to go to the expo but then, my condition at that time didn't allow me to travel that far. I could get plenty of baby and mommy stuff there under one roof!

Then I saw the good news when I bought Parenthood magazine.

My heart jumped! The event I've been waiting for is here in May! Yeay! I would definitely go. I've already planned with my hubby on taking extra holidays, hotel reservation and where to go. And then, I saw another ads on the expo.

 and this

Mana satu nak pegi ni?  One is in March, one in May and one in August. Ayayy yay...(confused).
More info on the Parenthood & Motherhood expo here.

*Updates*

Eating healthy

My favourite fruits at the moment, peach and kiwi...

When you ate fruits, do you know what's goodness came from the fruits? Say if oranges, it's a source of Vitamin C. Let's see what are the goodness came from Kiwi fruits and peaches.

Nutrition-wise, kiwi fruits contain about as much potassium as bananas, and also contain 1.5 times the DRI for Vitamin C. It is also rich in Vitamins A and E, and its black seeds can be crushed to produce kiwi fruit oil, which is very rich in Alfa-Linoleic Acid (an important Omega-3 essential fatty acid)

Studies have proven that kiwifruits are useful in improving conditions of asthmatic children, and in decreasing the probability of colon cancer by providing a good amount of dietary fiber.

Peach is a fruit native to china, but cultivated in almost all the countries with a cool climate. They have an outer skin that is reddish-yellow in color, while the flesh is either white or yellow. Peaches that have a white flesh are usually very sweet and have very little acidity. However, the yellow-fleshed ones typically have an acidic tang, coupled with sweetness. A peach is extremely rich in vitamin A and potassium, apart from abounding in a number of other nutrients, making them rank very high in nutritional value and good for the health of an individual.

Health & Nutrition Benefits of Eating Peach
  • Peaches help make the skin healthy and also add color to the complexion.
  • It has been seen that consumption of peaches helps in the removal of worms from the intestinal tract.
  • Being rich in Vitamin A, peaches might help prevent cancer in organs and glands with epithelial tissue.
  • Peaches comprise of more than 80 percent water and are a good source of dietary fiber, making them good for those trying to lose weight.
  • Consumption of peaches, on a regular basis, can keep your bowel movements regular and even prevent straining.
  • Researches have suggested that peaches have good to excellent antioxidant activity, some antimicrobial activity and good to excellent tumor growth inhibition activity.
  • Peaches have a small laxative effect and a powerful diuretic effect and thus, are recommended to people suffering from rheumatism and gout.
  • Peach flowers have sedative proprieties and are good for children who are restless, especially when boiled in water with sugar and honey.

Let's play dress up!

I know some of you have heard of Polyvore where you can play dress up. Be your own stylist. It's something like playing dress up with your Barbie when we were little. I'm sure every one has at least one Barbie right? I had so much fun just playing with my Barbie in my own room, talking to myself and couldn't care less of what happening around me :P

What if I say I can now play dress up with my Barbie again but online?! No kid! I just found this awesome website call Looklet. Try it! You will love it!

I've made 3 looks from the Looklet. What do you think?

Try your style now! and link me so we can share looks :P

A brief trip to KL..

Usually, if we had a meeting in KL, I would probably stay a night before coming back to Penang. But since having Hariz, I can no longer linger around too long. Kena balik as soon as my work is done.

Anyways, I took the 1st flight on Saturday to KL and Fireflyz is the only one available at the early time. The fare was low and this would be my 1st time on Fireflyz. Not bad jugak la. A bit smaller than the normal plane but definetely bigger than the seaplane.

I reached KL around 8am after taking the 7.15am flight. As I stepped in the Subang Airport, I realized that I haven't been here for years! The place looks totally new. I love the way they decorated the place.

The white ceiling with small lights beam up like stars. Nice!

I reached the office early and had breakfast there. Above me & ben.

The girls.

Ready for a photo session for the new year.

I didn't stay for lunch because I have to catch the 2.50pm flight. I just walked to the KLCC lrt station because my office is just next to the avenue K and KLCC is just in front of me. huhuhu.. so near yet so far. Amik gambar je laaa...

There's this bar at the Avenue K. Love the deco.

I once didn't know that the lrt station was just below the Avenue K. So I walked from my office, which is next to Avenue K, went inside KLCC, walked through the tunnel to the lrt station. Only then I realized I just took a further route. Penat je jalan.

So I took the lrt to Kelana Jaya and then took a taxi to Subang. It costs me RM6.50 for the lrt and RM 18.30 for the cab. I saw a headless girl sitting next to me in the lrt. lol. Jakun betol aku neh :P

My flight to Penang is at 2.50pm and I reached the airport at 1pm. I've got plenty of time before boarding. So I decided to walk around the airport. I like to try on food. I saw this shop called Nooodles. I sat down and ask the waiter to give me the most recomended meal.

So they gave me the fried wantan noodle. They were right! It is good! I ate until nothing left in my plate (or was it that I was really hungry? :P)

There. Empty plate .

Then I ordered chicken dim sum. It's been awhile since I had dim sum. It was 2 years ago at hartamas. It was good too! I give 8 out of 10 ;)

After finishing my meal, I went to check in straightaway. I got the seat next to the propeller. Quite noisy during take off. I was too exhausted and doze off all the way to Penang. I'm glad that I am home now so I could play and bfeed Hariz :)

He can be in here all day long. Until he falls asleep :P

No more heels for me please..

Ever since I gave birth to Hariz, I can no longer fit in most of my shoes. I don't know why but somehow my feet had grown (or the shoes had shrunk?) I can no longer fit in my heels collection which is shoes for work. It is such as waste as my feet is (or was?) size 9 and sometimes 10 (yeah. i have a huge feet). Now my only work shoes is the one and only sandal. Been wearing it ever since.

So I was thinking of selling off all the shoes because I am moving out soon and rather not bring the whole 3 racks. yep. Not 1 not 2, but 3 tier of rack. The one in the photo above shown is only 1 of them. Ay yay yay. Ade ke anybody out there ber saiz 9 or 10? Previously when I put them on sale, tak laku because very rare women with size 9 to 10. *sigh*

My current wants for the new home

Since we are moving in the new home soon, we should be having a complete set of dining set to go with the new kitchen cabinet (cewahh. alasan je :P).

Currently our pinggan mangkuk are all not in the same colour or design. The bowls that I bought from IKEA are all chipped here and there. Sedih sangat. Now I am aiming for the Corelle range of dishware. The new design, the square-ish is really nice. My mom had the whole collection but rounded for quite sometime. It has been for more than 12 years and they are still in good shape. The reason I choose Corelle is mainly because of it's quality.

Below are the shortlisted of the designs which I think really suit our new kitchen which is black, white and grey.
The Black & whites

Maybe some colours?

Or just plain white?

Round ones are ok too but square is a bit different from the norm. no?

I saw Jusco and Parkson selling for RM600++ per set. I saw some pre-order at the blog going for RM400++ per set. Maybe I could get cheaper price in Langkawi but is it worth it to go there just to buy these?

Another lunch with the Vs

Yesterday we went to try on this newly open bakery shop cum cafe. Located in the Burmah Road and just next to the 7-Eleven.

The cafe is called Eyzza. The owner is a friend of my colleague. He said they have the best spaghetti he ever tried. So that's why we were there to try it.

The entrance of the cafe is with wooden decking.

The cafe is on the 1st level and the bakery is on the groundfloor.

Me muka lapar waiting for the food

The set meal comes with drinks, main course and dessert (ice cream)

I was thinking of having the spaghetti but I am a rice person so kena order nasi jugak.
Or else I will not make it through the day :P So I ordered the Chicken Chop with rice. haha. ada jugak ek? :P

French fries or fun fries?

What's this??? Lol. Ini rambut my friend lor :P

Overall, the food was ok. Quite a big portion and very kenyang. I'd say it's really cheap with RM9.90 per set only. Murahkan makanan kat Penang ni? Jom Penang!!
