A trip to Maldives

I've been wanting to post this entry about Maldives ever since before I started blogging (boleh ke?) :P

Anyways, somewhere around end of 2008, which was almost 2 years ago, I visited Maldives for the 1st time. I was excited, overjoyed, gumbira and semua happy's expression la when I get the chance to go there. I knew Maldives has the most beautiful islands in the world and the beaches, the crystal clear water, all those things I read/seen in the TV or magazines.

The Maldives officially Republic of Maldives, is an island country in the Indian Ocean formed by a double chain of twenty-six atolls stretching in a north-south direction off India's Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago. It stands in the Laccadive Sea, about seven hundred kilometres (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka.

The atolls of Maldives encompass a territory spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometers, making it one of the most disparate countries in the world. It features 1,192 islets, of which two hundred are inhabited. The Republic of Maldives capital and largest city is Malé, with a population of 103,693 (2006). It is located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll, in the Kaafu Atoll. It is also one of the Administrative divisions of the Maldives. Traditionally it was the King's Island, from where the ancient Maldive Royal dynasties ruled and where the palace was located.

The Maldives is the smallest Asian country in both population and area. With an average ground level of 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level, it is the lowest country on the planet. It is also the country with the the lowest highest point in the world, at 2.3 metres (7 ft 7 in). *source : wikipedia

I stayed at the Cocopalm Bodu Hithi Resort, Maldieves for 1 night. To get there, we need to take a boat or seaplane since that's the only transportation available. No you can't drive there because they are all in an island!

Beautiful atolls

This is the seaplane for you to go the desire location. I must say the view was breathtaking!!
However, we took boat ride to the resort since it is quite nearby the Male town. Only 45 minutes trip.

Arriving at the island via boat ride to the arrival jetty.

Me laying at the outdoor deck. Very relaxing.

The gigantic bathtub at the center of the room. Sangat romantic if you're on you're honeymoon.

Don't like indoor? They have private outdoor plunge pool.

Me taking the morning breeze. (please ignore the ugly feet)

Watervilla with private plunge pool

Swimming pool

I saw this stingray when I was walking on the deck to the arrival jetty.

Crystal clear water

Some of the fishes swimming.

Black tip.
