Pieja's engagement

One of my best girlfriends got engaged over the weekend in our hometown Alor Star. and of course I had to be there for her. We've been together since we were 14. So you do the math :)

This is my 1st time trying my good old 50mm on an event. I must say it took really great photos! I didn't use any flash at all during the event and most of the photos below were SOOC (straight out of camera). Pretty cool huh?

I play a bit with the P (program) functions. 1st photos below were taken with Standard and the rest with Faithful. I had so much fun taking all these photos with the lens. I can't wait for another event like this for me to test out what my 'baby' could do :)

Happy 9 Month Hariz!

Hariz is 9 month old! Yeay! You're a big baby boy now. You can crawl and lift up your body but still no sigh of teeth. Perhaps soon?

Family portrait

Yesterday, while we were on our back from work, I had this sudden thoughts of taking photos of our little family. 

me : honey, you pi jogging tak balik nanti?

wan : takk.. i nak main game :P

me : oloh... jom kita amik gambar.. kat depan umah jee... i dah pakai lawa-lawa dah nih :P

hahahha.. geli tak korang baca conversation tuh? hahaha... 

tah naper.. tetiba ada mood nak amik gambar. 

Then we picked Hariz up from nursery, he was asleep lah pulak. 

Luckily he woke right after we arrived home.

My sis in law was at home so I asked her to help taking the photos :)

Happy 8 Months!

I tried to keep this blog updated with Hariz's each month's birthday but I kept missing it and always end up with happy belated or in advance. What can I say, I a very busy women. huhuhu

Anyways, Happy 8 months darling. This means you've got 4 more months to go until you're 1 year old! Does this mean mama has to plan for your birthday now? *shrug

Okay, a bit of what Hariz's has achieved when entering his 8 months old :

1. He is able to stand up while holding or hanging on to something

2. He started to call 'abahhh' now and less 'maammaa'. *sigh. (I started noticing this changes when I was away for 4 days to Vietnam). But now, he can switch it to mama and sometimes abah. but most of the time is abah :(

3. Still no signs of teething tho.

4. He sleeps better now like 9.30pm to 6.30am.

5. He can kiss!! Mwaahhh!!!

Ho Chi Minh City {Day 3}

We start off our 3rd day in HCMC by visiting the City Opera House, District 1. It's just a walking distance from the hotel we stayed, Kimdo Royal Hotel.

I've never been to any opera house before. I find it so breathtaking and as if I was in one of the scene from the Phantom of The Opera :P That's my collegue from KL branch Hani and Puteri.We tried to do the gLee thingy :P

I really wish there was a performance done at that moment. *sigh*

Next we went to visit Phu My Hung Township. There's a show unit of one of the apartment and I can't help but noticing of these yummy 'food' display at their kithchen. Don't they look real? They were as close as the real thing! I kid you not! They carry a certain weight and even so fluffy like a real bun! I think I've seen it selling at SSF? *gosh, must have this! :P

Then we went to the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center where we have set a booth to display our works.

It has been one tiring day so we decided to take a break and relax. I did a ped and men and foot massage with hot stones. If you've tried Thai massage, they are pretty similar because they are so strong! I felt like they were crushing my bones when they did the back massage. whoa! I will never do that again! Unlike Bali, they were very soft and gentle. Anyway, the massage plus ped and men cost me USD 20. Quite resionable I would say.

Ho Chi Minh City {Day 2}

Day 2 of the HCMC visits, we went to the War Museum. The surroundings were full with tanks and planes from the war. We spent 1 hour and half here.

By the way, I realise, Vietnamese loves to hangout and have a drink  by the sidewalk. With the small chairs and small tables.

Anyway, that's me and my colleague Ben and Khoon Seng in front of the museum. I just bought the top by the way prior to my visit to Vietnam and shawl sponsored by my sis, Skewed Sunday :P

When I came in the museum, there were walls full of photos from the war with stories written below describing each and every one photos. The photos were pretty graphic and some of them really made me want to throw up and some of them really touches my heart especially ones with babies because they reminds me of Hariz :(

On the bottom right of the above photo, you can see a glass box and inside is actually a fetus of an unborn babies with deformations caused by the deadly toxic called Agent Orange that left Vietnam citizens cripple, deformed and some even deaths.

The "Tiger Cages" where they torture prisoners in this weird and sick kind of way. Like pulling off their nails, electrocutions, pulling off their teeth and chopping of their heads!

I saw this makcik selling these hats outside of the Museum and I asked her "can take?" showing her my camera and she suddenly just froze. LOL. and I quickly snap but I didn't buy the hats tho :P

Trung Nguyen Coffee is one of the famous coffee in town. You can find it almost everywhere here in HCMC. The way the serve it is by pouring the coffee inside the can above the mug and let it drip into the mug. Then we drink it! The verdict? The coffee taste way much better and kinda sweet.

Saw this spiral straws in the restaurant we went. They make a very nice combination with the colours and shapes.

Ho Chi Minh City through my lens...

Goooddd mooorning Malaysia!!! Hehe.. Has any watched this movie before? No? Good! because I'm not here to talk about the movie by the way :P

Since it was a 4-days trip, so I'm going to split the entry into 4 okay? Or maybe 3 :P

Anyways, let's start with the flight taking us to the city shall we? For us staying in Penang, we had to take another flight to reach LCCT which was Firefly  and for the 1st time in my flying experience, I've never seen a boarding pass written in hand, have you? Unfortunately, their computer system was down and they had to write all the passengers' details by hand. Can you imagine there were like 50 of them? Fuh!

Once we arrive the Saigon Airport, went through the security and custom, get our luggage, I was surprise to see there was a HUGE crowds outside the airport waiting for us. ...... Nah.. just kidding!:P But the crowd part is true! I don't know what they were waiting for. I asked our tour guide " is this normal?" she said not really. Well maybe they are waiting for someone or something. Uh.. I feel like a celebrity for a moment there. :P

One of the building that we passed and below (male) is our tour guide in Vietnam, Ken and the lady with the yellow t-shirt is our tour guide from Malaysia, Ms. Ho.

These are things you will see in Vietnam , hundreds of motorists! They said, the amount of the motorcycle owned by an individual is 2 person per bike. That's a lot! and they have a special traffic light meant for motorcycle only. The traffic was crazy! I don't think I could ever drive or ride a bike here. *shrugs.

Can you tell what's that entangled cables? They are phone and electric cables! OMGeee!! I wonder how do they maintained that.

Then we went to have lunch at a muslim restaurant. The food was ok. I think they taste much more better than Bali.

After the lunch, we went to visit Villa Riviera, District 1. This is the first gated community in HCMC. The price? Minimum 1.5mil USD.

Okay. That's the end of Day 1. Not so much things to do. I was exhausted from the trip and once we got to the hotel, we went to had dinner at this Singapore restaurant and later, went back to the hotel and tido! That will be my 1st time sleeping through the night after 8 months! Huaaaa...!!! I do really need that rest ;)
