I've been hibernating..

... in my own secret place :P

I know a few have been asking why this blog has been sort of abandoned. It has not! I still keep update my blog once in a blue moon in awhile. :)

Okay okay. The truth is, I'm so tied up with works not just at the office, but at home too! Do you know I am now a part time blog designer? :) Well it just happened :) You can read the rest of the story here.

Anyway, I decided to became serious in this blog design thing and have my name registered with SSM a few weeks ago. So it's official!! :D

So this is where all the magic starts to happened. Not so cozy thought but I'm lovin it :)

Thinking of upgrading the banquet desk to a more sturdy and solid desk. Ni nak padam guna eraser pon goyang habis meja :P

By the way this is an old photo. Taken the very first week when I set up this workstation. Now the plain white desk has this doodle from my little 'artist' called Hariz. Habis dia conteng meja haku. huhuhu.

I was thinking to do a bit of decorating in this so-called art room but time has never been my companion. Maybe when I have an extra bit of time eh?

A tower of pants!

I've been meaning to do a spring clean on my wardrobe but keep on holding it until I just had it today. So I left Hariz with Wan, head on upstairs and start pulling up those sleeves.

This time I had to clean up all my pants collections because well, I won't be needing them now. Not until I got my figure back which is in few months time? (I wish!)

Most of my pants are size 28 - 29. As my belly and ass getting bigger now, I've decided to put them away temporarily so I won't be so frustrated looking at all those pants not being able to wear them.

I just realize I have one helluva collection of pants! Jeans alone is, I don't know, 20? Don't get me start with work pants.

'okay babies. be good now. mommy will be seeing you soon. tsk'

and what happened when all the pants combined?

a tower of pants!!
(seriously I had to move it againts the wardrobe so it won't collapse when I took this photo :P)

and what's left for me to wear now?
This!

Keep telling myself this is just temporary. So no need to buy new one. All I have to do is open the above closet and you will see tonnes of pants! :P

Ahh okay.. That's this week spring clean job. Will treat myself some ice-cream now for all the hardwork. Phew!

Y.E.S! (Year End Saving)

So like every where I go now they are all YES. Year End Sale. Do you think this is the great time to save which is shop during sale? Absolutely not! All I know, you are tend to buy things you don't really need whenever you see this sale banner everywhere you go. For instance, do you need an anti-wrinkle cream when you hardly had any wrinkles? But it's on sale!!!! How can I not have it??!!!

Yeah, that's what happened to me recently. *sigh*

I've been pacing in front of this Himalaya store for quite a number of times when I saw the 80% sign. Finally I've decided to have a look what the fuss is all about.

Indeed they were having a great 80% off!!! (on certain product that is)

Than I quickly ask :

Me : What item is 80% off?" (everyone should ask that now wouldn't we? :P)

Promoter : Oh.. now this anti-wrinkle cream is only RM10!

Me : (whattt???? you f*cking kidding me????) oh really?

Promoter : Yes! and this night cream is only RM6

Me : (are you sure you're not s*itting me???) owh. that cheap.

Promoter : Yes indeed. So if you want it, better take them all (there were like 6 of them on the shelves). The offer ends today (smiling)

Me : hahaha... okay.. I won't take all but i'll take both cream for now :P

So here I am, with this 2 creams that I hardly used that I bought on sale.Which is totally absurd! Wan says "laaa.. awat tak beli 10???" *eyes rolling*

On another note, we had another saving on buying a shelf. This is really a money saving shelf because Wan made it himself :)

The corner used to be empty and we thought of buying a shelf to fit in our pans and pots. But most of the shelf won't fit the corner. So finally Wan had to made one up.

Quite neat I would say *pat on his back* (seriously, I have to credit this to him because I know he is reading my blog :P . HAhaha.. I know you are! :P

So to end up my 2010, I didn't go out to celebrate or have dinner. We just sit at home and be thankful to Allah for all the things He have done for us and

Hello 2011!!!!

On baby safety gate

Ever since Hariz started to learn to crawl, we knew that having a house with staircases would be one of the safety issue. At first, I was a bit reluctant to buy one of those safety gate because it's an eye sore! But putting away aesthetics, Hariz safety is number 1.

So I went looking for this safety gate at Toys R' Us. They had  a few models to choose from with the price ranging from RM179 - RM400++. I'm not looking for something fancy. Good enough to stop Hariz from climbing up the stairs.

Luckily Toys R' Us was having a promotions for it's members. So I bought this safety gate from Little Bean for RM179.90.

My mistake when purchasing this gate was I didn't measure it first before went looking for it. Well actually it was unintentional buys.

Well anyway, when I got home to try in on, like I reckon, the gate didn't fit. My staircase a little too wide and the gate is short. I thought of add few extensions but Wan said its really a waste and it will cost more.Luckily Toys R' Us has a full refund policy within a certain day so I returned the gate and got my money back :)

With the stairs being no-gate, we were thinking of getting a custom made gate. I think it'll cost around RM100++ per gate with iron as material and we need 3 of it. But Wan got a much better plans. So I thought.

Finally after 2 days bertukang, we got our own custom made safety gate that we won't get anywhere else..

Heheh.. it's not as sleek as made my professionals but it is safe :)

(Master card moment) : Price for 3 safety gates = RM150++
Price for our baby's safety = Priceless

Lunch date with the Y clan

Yesterday, while stucked in the traffic at the Penang bridge, I had a sudden crave for my mom's Bawal Steam and her Sambal Prawn and mixed veggie with oyster sauce. Quickly I called here requesting for the receipe :

Me : Helo, mak, can you like sms me your receipe for the bawal steam? Suddenly teringin nak makan laa.. :P
Mom : (laughing).. eyy.. we are going to KL tomorrow. I will cook for you and we all have lunch at your place.
Me : YEayyyyy!!!! (I should've been jumping up and down but I was still in the car, stucked in traffic.)

So that was the story for my entry today. Started off with my favourite Bawal Steam. *drool

My mom made 2 of it!! Takot tak cukup :P

and this is the time to show off use all the plates bought from Langkawi :P

Hariz is down with fever since yesterday. But he is still being bubbly as always.

and of course, the main reason they are here is Hariz :)

Poor Hariz. I really hope he will get better soon. This is the longest fever so far. Usually it will be gone in 1 day :(

Lo and behold the massive collections of...

..my scarves!!!! :P

I got a little bit of free time last Sunday and decided to resume (yes resume because terstop sekejap due to certain things yang lebih penting like Hariz! :P) arranging my scarves collections to the new scarves hangers bought from IKEA during our last trip there.

I bought 2 of the holders and macam tak cukup! I divided into 2 parts. 1 for Tie Racks and plain scarves/shawls and another one is for patterned shawls.

 {TR collections}

I usually wear TR scarves (prefarably sateen) to work only and on special occasions. why? because malas nak berpin-pin :P Kalau pakai shawl tu, lilit je. :)

While I was busy with my little project, wan looked after Hariz and later, he too got a little project of himself.

 Paiting the stool :P
Yes I must admit, he is quite a handyman. Stool yang dah cantek tu pon, still nak paint. Takpela as long as dia gembira :)

Preventing fire Ida's way...

Last week, we invited a representative from United Asia fire prevention service sdn. bhd. to give a talk in our office on how to prevent fire when you're at home or at the office. This is crucial especially when you're staying in a high rise building.

During the 1 hour seminar, we were thought on the do's and don't during the fire break. There are stuff we actually thought it was ok to do, like what we have seen on TV but they were wrong!

For example, if a person caught in fire, don't try to put the fire off by using blanket because this will cause more damage to the victim's skin. The best way is use the fire extinguisher. (seriously, I thought that was the best way too until this trainer show us photos of fire victims. I must admit that the photos were quite disturbing at pretty graphic. With the video and all where people sanggup jump off 20 storey building that was on fire!) on let's not go there shall we?

Anyways, at the end of the seminar, I bought these 3 item to put at our home.

(L-R) : smoke detector, fire extinguisher ABC and pocket smoke mask

This is a small size fire extinguisher where I can put it at home or in the car.It is lighter and easy to operate. Just pull the pin and spray.

The battery operated smoke detector is as important as the fire extinguisher because smoke travels faster than fire.Whenever a case of fire, we are able to detect the smoke 1st and get ourselves to safety.

Well this is something  that I have never seen before. It's a smoke mask where you put it on and you could make yourself to safety in the thick smoke without suffocating.

Now I've done my part for my family by providing safety measure in case whenever there is fire (touch wood). :)

Thanks for looking!

Weekend project - Cleaning up my closet

This project was long overdue because of orang yang nak pasang wardrobe yang sangat lambat. Took them almost 3 weeks just to complete! The work was ok. Nothing to shout. It's just a simple wardrobe with few spaces for his and hers. I've been wanting a walk-in wardrobe since forever! no only I managed to have one :)

So I started to hang all my clothes accordingly and I just realized I have so many purple tops! ;P Bila dah susun macam ni, baru I can see all my clothes. Kalau tak, asyik rasa macam tak cukup :P

 See what I mean?

and my clinchers & belts collections!

and the whole clan :P
Top left is where all my tops are.
Bottom left is my pants/skirts section.
and right is my maxis collection and cardigans and accessories.

**The design of the wardrobe is L-shape. The above photo is taken on one side only. The other side is for His. No need to show ler :P

My scarves collection is still haven't found it's home yet. Terlalu banyak! Tak sempat nak kemas lagi. Maybe another week. I have to do this ONLY when Hariz is behaving well and can play on his own. That's why it took me 2 days just to do this. Haih.

to be continued........

Home is where the heart is

That's true. My heart is now di rumah. I love our new home berbanding rumah sewa dulu yang bagai nak roboh. Kadang-kadang, we can hear tikus main kejar-kejar atas siling time kitaorg tengah tido. Kalau hujan plak, air menitik atas siling. Not that I am complaining but that's the truth! Hariz pon , eversince we move in the new house ni, he started to sleep 4-5 hours straight! Is it just coincidence? (Hariz just turned 5 months old btw).

Anyways, as promised, photos of my new home. Nothing fancy mcm dalam blog Rizalman tu. Semua basic things like, living, dining & kitchen. I kinda design the kitchen myself based on what Wan and I needs. (mostly Wan la. memang cerewet.  Dapat client camni pengsan :P)

Started off with this grandfather clock. I told wan it didn't go with the furniture but he insists. Well, apa boleh buat. He's the boss :P
Our living room is our favorite space. We tried to make it as comfortable as much since we spent most of our time in this space. We do almost everything in the living room from watching TV, main game, tido and even makan :P Hariz pon tak terkecuali!

Wan chose the sofas and I pick the color. The curtains too. But I pick the chandelier myself tapi Wan paid for it :P
Our theme for the kitchen is Black, White and Grey. The counter top is made of tiles but it looks like granite. It's much more cheaper by doing this rather than 1 piece of granite. Easy to maintain and looks nicer.

We separated the kitchen and dining by building a wall between them. A sliding door was introduced to keep the smell when we are cooking from spreading over to the living. We leave it open when the kitchen is not in used so the space will look more spacious.

Initially, ruang kitchen and dining takde wall. They design it to be open all the way from living to the kitchen. Tak tau naper diaorg design gitu. but to me macam tak sesuaaiii...

Dapur dah baru kalau tak berasap jugak tak tau laaaa.. (cakap kat diri sendiri dulu before orang lain cakap :P)

Banyak lagi ruang kat dalam umah ni yang masih kosong like the family hall and our 2nd living. Maybe hold it for time being kot coz fulus sudah abis :P.

*My walk in wardrobe belom siap lagi. Maybe next week. I can't wait!

Thank you so much for looking!

Weekend activities

Last Saturday our activity as usual, pegi tengok rumah di Seberang Perai. Lepas tu pegi jalan-jalan la :P

Hariz naik kete je mula la nak tido.

Our house - or should i say HOME. To date, almost 80%. Hopefully by the end of the month boleh move in kot.

Then we off to Jusco Bandar Perda. Initially nak pegi Queensbay. Tapi dah nak dekat CNY, confirm jem packed. Sampai Jusco Bandar Perda takde la ramai sangat.

We reached there almost lunch time. Since I haven't get my hubby anything for his birthday (bukan terlupa, more like busy :P), so I decided to treat him. Of course he picked his favorite of all time, Nando's! I don't understand his fondness to this grilled chicken so much, but since it's for his birthday, I was like what the heck.

Hariz as usual being a sport. Stay in his stroller and watched us eat sambil dok 'ummm.. ummm'...

Will blog again on my home soon. Thank you for reading!

My new house makeover

We were planning to move in to our new home sometime in February. Just waiting for the kitchen cabinet to be set up. At the meantime, I am still browsing for the decorations for the new house like the living, dining, family area and maybe the rooms. Just to get an idea how the area should look like.

Designer Rizalman Ibrahim has done a very good job in decorating and transforming the winners' home for DecoDeco. I'm so amazed on how he decorated each of the house with different theme and colours. Here are just a few of the photos taken from his blog which I think I could adapt in my new home. *wink*

I like this color.

Love the chair and chandelier. Gorgeous!

Kan best if Rizalman could deco deco my house pulak. Mesti gempak la :P

*all pictures were taken from Fabulousity by Rizalman blog
